Whooooooooooo!!! Thanksgiving Break is finally here!! Got like a week off from school!!! Man it came just in time....getting really..not exactly stressed out, but I do need a break; and luckily I didn't get like a huge mound of homework for the supposed "holiday"...just few math exercises, a few history chapters, and a 100 page book to read...well...now i think about it it's kinda a lot...but well I should still be able to rest some...
Oh...just recently changed my name!! Wooo!! I am now, officially, Harry Pittman!! Hahaha...nah I'm not so crazy as to change my name to that...besides, my friend already took that name, and MAN does he have hairy pitts! =P....fine fine you're not hairy, Harry...you're like so unhairy as those hairless cats...
..haha...I just found out that some of the names these celebrities give their children are really, really awesome...Forget the famous Suri and Shiloh of "Brangelina"; Jason Lee, from "My Name is Earl" and "The Incredibles", named his child Pilot Inspektor. Haha...but i love Sylvester Stallone's (the famous guy from "Rocky") kid's name! SAGE MOONBLOOD. That's so tight man...i should have named myself that...
Nah... anyway! I have finally, after like 17 years of living with my original birth name, gotten rid of it!! I am now officially THOMAS!! For those of you from whom i've kept my secret previous name, I was originally named Calvin by my Dad after some super-fast sprinter back then in the 80s or something...cos my dad used to be like this track star when he was in school and that was like his idol or smth i think...Then, one day when i was around 5 years old (i think), I decided I wanted to be called Thomas... =/.
I forgot for what reason. Maybe it was cos I watched too much of Thomas the Tank Engine?
One of my good friends back then, Andrew Dillon, said he remembered I wanted the girls to call me Thomas but everyone else to call my Calvin...
. Hahaha..but i really don't think it was because of those two reasons. I forgot what the reason was, but I know what it wasn't. I wasn't like a diehard Thomas the Tank Engine fan at all...and, when I was 5 years old, I didn't care about girls..For some weird reason, back then girls were like this disgusting and foreign species which we, the male race and the true inhabitants of the planet, despised and never interacted with: remember how we were always like, "What? Girls?! YUCK!" Then when we did interact it was usually with those aliens whom our parents had informed us (without evidence) were our sisters. Yet again, for some reason, the inevitable crossing of paths with them because they constantly seemed to be in our way always ended up ugly. Funny how as you get older and when you realize that girls might actually be useful, they don't seem to get in your way as much as you want them to anymore...lol...haha..so yeah NO, it can't be because of those insensible reasons! My mom said the reason was because she believed a name was really important and didn't like the name Calvin cos she wanted to name me after someone in the Bible..But I thought It was my idea to change my name specifically to Thomas. I remember, back in my family's tall, 3 storey, "Green House", sitting on top of one of our old black TV speakers asking my Mom for permission to change my name. I think it's possible that my mom brainwashed me and manipulated me to think it was my idea and everything. Oh well.
Wahahahaha!!! Now you minions like Benong can't call me Calvin Thomas Kabob Lee Yang De Kuan anymore!! =/...But i still have to find some way to get rid of that "kabob".
..lol...it's so dumb it should never be there...Thanks Benong... -_-.
Oh, forgot to show you guys how much freaking candy Madeline and John (my two younger siblings) got from Halloween!! Although Halloween was like on October 31st, the amazing amount of candy you can obtain by dressing up and knocking on people's door on a certain night is just unbelievable. Of course you have to be in a certain age range, be "cute" enough, and repeat the same phrase over and over again like some sorta robot. "Trick or treat!...Trick or treat!...trick or treaa..."
Is that a crazy amount of candy or what? That's like the most candy I've ever seen in my life...And this was not even everything! Seriously..
I guess I would still rather have Chinese New Year in place of Halloween though, cos i can get something, and it's worth much more than candy. Although of course i convinced my younger siblings very nicely
to share their candy with me...and i actually also saw high school students go around getting candy also. Shame on them. They're like so old already and they're knocking on people's doors to get candy. They shouldn't do that..
They should just get their candy from their diligent younger siblings.

Live Breaking News:
Obama is President.
(although by the time I posted this it wasn't live anymore)
Well, there you have it. America's first ever black president. Although I am a Republican, and therefore more McCain leaning (especially because of his more Christian views concerning issues such as abortion and gay marriage), I guess just the fact that Barack Obama is African-American sort of makes up and nullifies some of his (in my opinion) not-very-wise approaches to some issues; Obama's victory really shows how far the country has come in racial harmony. Sarah Palin's huge, huge blunders and McCain's association with the unpopular George Bush also really helped Obama; it was a huge reason why people voted for Obama; people want change.
But then again, Obama does have some very good plans; I actually supported Obama in a persuasive research paper essay which I had to do on the presidental candidates (an assignment which I feel would be the first of many of the most time-consuming and challenging projects which I have ever had to work on). For example, his plans to remedy a currently disappointing American education; these plans make McCain seem like a total ignorant. His countrywide healthcare system sounds like a good idea to me as well.Yeah well so we'll see whether his supposed "lack of experience" will affect the way he handles the presidency; after all, one of the great presidents in the history of the US, Abraham Lincoln, had even less "experience" than Obama and yet did a fantastic job.
My history teacher has just been sensational in educating the class on this monumental 2008 election and showing us all the twists and turns of the political game (it really is a game) or I probably wouldn't even bother with politics or current events. It has been interesting to watch all of the events leading up to the election; the most memorable definitely were the videos of interviews (Check out the Daily Show with Jon Stewart) of Americans that are totally out of touch with current events and only get bits and pieces out of what is happening, so they're saying like, "McCain's definitely ma' choice cuz there's no way in 'ell 'awl vote for a bloomin' ter-ro-reest!" Cos there was a time when Obama was "accidentally" credited as "Osama" and his middle name is actually Hussein: a combination of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, what would you expect? Obama is actually supposedly a Christian.
This really happened!
Towards the end of the election things had really gotten hilarious cos McCain was losing in the polls and he was just doing everything he could to pull Obama down till the point it got ridiculous, like calling him a Marxist and Socialist.
McCain also accused Obama of trying to "Share the Wealth" (the proven failed method of Communism) when he also supported the Wall Street bailout which is kinda socialist..
Anyway, very sorry I have not been able to blog, facebook, MSN messenger, all that cos just been really busy cos I had final exams and that persuasive research paper on Obama and McCain (it was so irritating cos it's very hard to persuade when both Obama and McCain have very good points as to why they establish their opinion as so!). Then when I finally finished like last week I just was kinda tired/lazy and wanted to just lie around and be a couch potato. =D. Also, sometimes after my last post I joined this soccer club! I'm really enjoying it and practicing hard to make up for all those months I didn't play soccer cos of my ankle injury.
Things are real interesting in the Premier League, too! Arsenal lost to Stoke, Hull is just amazingly scary, Chelsea's freaking record was finally ended by Liverpool! which this year finally seem to be actual title contenders (but I still have a feeling Man Utd will own Liverpool in the end
). Tottenham Hotspur even defeated Liverpool and drew with Arsenal - they're back on track..Arsenal vs. Man Utd this weekend!
Heroes has been pretty good too! Tim Kring irritatingly did not put out an episode yesterday (monday) when he should have..stupid - elections shouldn't cause a week's loss of Heroes.. =P..Although I don't exactly get why Arthur Petrelli needs Peter to help him, especially with (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER ALL THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO HAVE THEIR AMAZING HEROES EXPERIENCE RUINED SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH! Take note Andrew! This is how it should be done! Spoiling is a sin!) especially with Peter's powers taken away from him..was I the only one that missed it or what...I also forgot; why does Arthur want to give the whole world powers? and what's so bad about that again?
GO watch Heroes if you haven't started!

The Bob Files: Entry 85
So we went rafting recently on the American River, and I think we had to pay something like 30 bucks for the pictures..but I guess it was worth it.. =/..Also, we got to raft on the river like for free cos my uncle had friends who were camping by the American River..(If you camp there you can raft for free, if not, you gotta pay like over a 100 bucks =S, not including the renting of the raft & etc.) We went through two sections of the river...the first part was really boring. Wayy too calm. However, we did get stuck in some rocks and that was pretty fun to handle; the water was FREEZING cold! The second part of the river was just fantastic - fortunately nobody fell overboard or anything, cos it was actually pretty dangerous. Luckily for us my uncle did a great job of guiding the raft. These are the pictures of us at the rapid named "Hospital Bar"...look at my uncle at the very end of the boat! I think he bounced like 2-3 feet into the air man! His face is just one of sheer terror...

Some time later, we went over a rapid called "Satan's Cespool (toilet)". The name itself could just tell you how dangerous it was..there were whirlpools that could suck you under if you fell overboard...

Literally BREATHTAKING FUN!!
Another cool thing that happened that weekend was that we got a visit from Nick Vujicic; the guy with no arms and no legs! So yeah it was pretty cool to see him in person and hear him speak...his message was really moving; my cousin rededicated her faith from listening to him.

Chelsea vs Man United this coming Sunday at 6AM !! Hope Man Utd get their form back soon...

CONGRATULATIONS TO Uncle John & Ai Fuah on their SECOND baby! Man..wow..and it seems just like yesterday they were unable to have a baby for soo long and now they've got TWO!
Ahh...so sorry i've not blogged or done anything online significant in an ultra longgg time..this is becoming a bad habit...so when i do go online i have to blog like super long posts which most people find too long for their taste...so, sorry about that, but in any case this blog is kinda for myself so like one day i could look back on all the memories...
I actually got my internet like 2 weeks ago, but then school also started about 2 weeks ago. Even after bout 2 weeks it's kinda hard to settle into the school for a few reasons...
1. The school functions differently; a student will have different groups of people for every different class you take, so it's tricky to get to know people well. In my previous schools we always had a class that did everything together so it was quite easy to make good friends..So although i'm missing my friends even more right now i'm not really so worried...cos i've got my after school activities and the church youth group is starting this week.
2. The school system here is also different. A student intensively studies only 4 subjects per semester (there are two semesters), and any student of any age can take almost any classes he wants. So a freshman (a first year student) could have the option of taking AP classes. (High schools here offer AP (college level) classes that give you extra credit so it's easier for you to enter college) Nobody is restricted to a certain syllabus (there's no such thing as being have to be promoted to the next grade/retained; students can progress at their own pace. So, a student could just fulfill the basic basic requirements to graduate (like taking english) then for the rest of his classes choose all the non-academic and really easy/doing nothing classes and high school would be like heaven.
Anyway, so "thanks" to this system, my mom got me signed up for all these AP classes so that my schedule is kinda hectic. In this first semester I'm only taking two academic classes this semester: AP History/English, AP Math A, and the homework is already like CRAZY! It's even worse than Singapore! (or at least when exams are not soon). And i thought Singapore secondary school was the worst. Luckily my other two classes this semester are saving my life (Weight conditioning and BusinessTech (you just get a job and work). I really have no idea how I'll cope when next semester arrives. My weight training and BusinessTech will be gone; my 4 classes will be AP History/English, AP Math B, AP Chemistry, normal level Physics (whew!). Especially as next semester the swimming season will start and i'll be joining the team..on top of that i'll probably still have my job..although i most likely will quit the job cos it's too much..
Oh yeah, this class i'm taking, BusinessTech, is kinda cool although it's kinda dumb to be considered a "class". Basically this teacher helps us prepare a resume, work on our interview skills, and helps us get a job, then we work to get some experience in the "real world". Yeah so I interviewed successfully and starting next week i'll be working as a lawyer's assistant to learn something about law. It starts out as an unpaid position, but probably after a week or so if my employer likes me he'll start paying me a little more than minimum wage. Minimum wage is like $8.40/hour, which to me is pretty good already; in 1 month I could earn a few hundred bucks.
Yay! So I supposedly dyed my hair ash brown 2 wks although it kinda looks a bit reddish brown when i'm under the sun.. What to expect, the dye was like $2 - partly the reason i bought it. Yeah so that day I was like really happy and took a few pictures cos dyeing my hair was like the forbidden act, was kinda expensive to just dye during the holidays, and i was not really sure whether it would look nice or not. Yeah so here are the pictures the first day i dyed it..the color cant really be seen, but now after two weeks under the sunlight it's lighter already..and my fringe is up to my mouth already! =P..I'm probably gonna cut it a little cos i'm thinking it's too long for my hairstyle..
AND, a few days later, WE GOT A ULTRA CUTE GOLDEN RETRIEVER! My uncle's chihuahuas in my first-day-of-brown-hair pictures are like nothing compared to our golden retriever man! His name is Halo (the golden ring around an angel's head)..I named it...

BROWN HAIR ROCKS!!
DESTROY ALL BLACK HAIRED CREATURES!!(yes i know I look like a retard but "niggers" must die!

victim escaped....
(of course i didn't really throw him in...that dachshund/chihuahua 's short legs would have got him drowned...)

See the brown hair???? Black haired guy feels too ashamed to face the brown haired =P

Side effects of the brown hair..
My cool Bob the turtle!
See if you can notice anything about the cards!
Halo, the cutest dog on earth!

Halo wouldn't have drowned cos he's brown haired!

Further evidence of the ownage of brown haired creatures over black haired creatures (James) !!
yeah, but old white haired people own at mahjong. -.-
Oh yeah, i finally learned how to play mahjong! Lol...i never really found a need to learn it before...but then my grandmother who only speaks chinese comes over with my uncle and cousins, and she's kinda sad cos we're all speaking english and she's like kinda
outdated on the movies we talk about and stuff, so we gotta at least do something for her...so we play mahjong, AND SHE'S LIKE THE ULTRA XI-FU (Master)! She's like got her little minions spying on all our cards/tiles and she won like practically EVERY TIME! Crap man...
The cards with the turtle are all the 5 of hearts
ok i WILL update next week!
What! Just read andrew's blog (yes i'm probably a bit behind on stuff) and found out that Mike Guglielmucci (YES THE PLANETSHAKERS GUY!!) and his cancer was a FAKE??
